Style Hacks for Early Fall

 Style Hacks for Early Fall

For many of us, the official start of the fall season actually ends up more commonly being an extension of summer. After looking at this weeks forecast we’ll be spending much of the week in the high 80s, with a cooler evening in the mid-50s. With this kind of range in temperature, it’s nearly impossible to dress for the fall season without dying of heat. Luckily, there are a few style hacks to help you keep your cool and be comfortable in what you're wearing throughout the day. Continue reading to see which tips I utilize to transition my summer pieces with new clothing for the fall/autumn season.

For the office

Dressing for the office can be difficult enough as it is, but through in a hot and humid afternoon and a cool commute and you’ll be losing your mind with figuring out what on earth to wear. My of my favorite fall style hacks is utilizing sleeveless turtlenecks. Much of the time these are designed in lighter fabrics with stretch and pair perfectly under a suit or blazer. This way you’ll look like your wearing a long sleeve, but in reality, you’ll be much more comfortable.

Opt for Skirts

Invest in a light-weight wrap-skirt can do wonders for your fall wardrobe. These airy pieces pair well with everything from tee-shirts to blouses and give you a little more fluidity in your wardrobe. My suggestion is to stay away from summer hues and opt for a pastel-to-neutral color range. Currently, I’ve got my eye on this rust colored satin style from &otherstories.

Ankle Boots

While the middle of summer may be too hot for leather ankle boots, the fall is the perfect time for them! Style a pair of animal printed ankle boots with a mini skirt or long sleeve dress. The juxtaposition will offset the fall style and allow you to exercise your fashion muscles.

Pair Heels with Socks

If you’re still looking to wear your open toe sandals during your cold morning commute style them with sheer socks. This is definitely a trend reserved for the fashion-saavy, but the look is actually incredibly popular at the moment. If a patterned sock is too outside your comfort zone try these lightweight calf socks from J.Crew.
