Roast Beef Sandwich
From the caramelized onions that melt in your mouth to the tender roast beef that is perfectly seasoned; its not wonder its an occasional treat.
With that being said we tend to stray from the norm of the "traditional" style of making these delicious sandwiches. This roast beef sandwich is served on a soft roll and topped with mayo, caramelized onions, tender deli beef, and topped with monterey jack cheese.
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 medium yellow onions, halved and sliced paper thin (about 4 cups)
Freshly ground black pepper
Melt the butter in a large frying pan over medium-low heat until foaming.
Add the onions, and let them cook, stirring occasionally until they are deep golden brown and caramelized, about 45 minutes. Season well with salt and pepper, remove from the pan, and let cool.
