How to Style Camo
Camouflage is one of those prints that seems to be the perfect fall staple. I've worn a few different camo jackets in the past, and more recently picked up a new utility style. I love the looser fit, front pockets and higher collar. Not to mention it pairs perfectly with just about everything. This borrowed from the boy's aesthetic balances best when paired with closet basics. As the weather begins to cool off I've been reaching for more casual outfits, and this jeans and camo jacket has been on a major repeat. One of the questions I get frequently asked is how to style more casual pieces in different ways. I thought I'd kick things off with sharing a few ways of styling the camouflage jacket.
HOW TO STYLE CAMO
The standard: Like any element in fashion, mastering the basics is the key to looking effortless. Jeans and a tee shirt or in my case a mock neck sweater suit the cut of the jacket and jeans perfectly. You could also tuck a cotton t-shirt or cropped sweater into the top of high waisted denim to define the waist.
The edge: If your style aligns more with graphic tees and statement pieces you can also up the edge factor. Pairing a camouflage jacket over a vintage band tee and layered open flannel makes for the perfect tomboy-chic look. Another way to style this to up the anty is layered over a zip-front hoodie.
The girly feel: If you've ever scoured Pinterest for styling ideas, I'm sure you've come across a camo jacket styled with a striped top. This seems to be one of the most popular ways of styling a camo utility jacket and surprisingly is one of my favorites. Whenever I see this done I instantly think that it's a look that could have been put together by a J.Crew stylist. It's preppy, mixes prints, and is a sure way to look put together!
