End of Season Style, How to Dress the Part
The end of the season can bring mixed emotions, especially when it comes to what to wear. The summer, in general, can vary, bringing an extended heat wave or even an unexpected turn towards fall. In this post, I'll share how to walk the tight-rope between seasonal dressing. For as long as I can remember I've experienced what some like to refer to as an Indian Summer. For those unfamiliar, this phrase refers to an extended period of time when the weather continues to be hot or warm well into September and October. This is quite common in San Francisco, and actually, is one of the best times to plan a visit.
But, with a longer summer comes to the dilemma of not knowing what pieces to purchase. Most retailers make the jump into selling fall clothing well before July even ends, so as much as I'd like to pick up the oversized chunky knit sweater, the 90-degree weather is advising otherwise. The one piece of clothing that I do find value in is a long-line dress or jumpsuit. Either one of these could be styled and worn well into fall with simple layering. For those of you who may feel stumped when it comes to restyling your jumpsuits, try starting with a long-sleeved sweater that matches the neckline. You could throw on a loose knit or cardigan or perhaps layer a graphic tee and knot it at the waistline, the posibilities are all out there!
