Can you say heat wave? California has been hit with sky high temps both inland and along the coast. Here I thought I was escaping the the heat in San Francisco, when in reality it's been just as warm here. Trying to be productive and active can feel like a burden to bear when all you really wanna do is jump in a pool or escape to a cool room. The last few weeks I've been attempting to battle my low-energy with a few different morning smoothies.
These are a great jump-start to my day and really have been fueling my body with the nutrition it needs to get me from am-pm. One of my favorites is what I like to refer to as the, 'Power Green Smoothie'. In all honesty I happened to stumble upon the recipe while I was trying to make due with the fruit we had on hand, and now its on repeat! It combines a few unlikely fruits and vegetables for a unique and refreshing taste.
- 1/3 C Frozen Pineapple
- 1/3 C Cut Honeydew Melon
- 1/4 C Green Apple
- 1/2 C Spinach
- 6 oz. Mango Juice (sugar free)
Combine all ingredients in a personal mixer or large blender. This makes a 1 large serving, but you can easily double the recipe for two! Try it out and tell me what you think, you can also add in protein powder for an added boost.
