Huge Style, Small Space

As I prepare to leave the nest {post-college} I can't help but to think practical about potential living options. Being a young professional on a a budget it's not likely that i'll end up living in the lap of luxury or in a large amount of space.

In college I always lived with roommates and was actually quite lucky with the space we shared {despite the 6 girls 1 bathroom situation}. However, as I venture out solo I have a strong feeling that the space will be much more lacking in Sq. Ft. With that comes the inevitable task to conquer a small space with huge style. I'll started a Pinterest board to gather all of my small space inspirations and ideas.

Check out what items and decor are currently inspiring me..

How do you add style to small spaces?

  1. Living in NYC, small apartments are a given especially on a young professional's salary :) I stalked every good will and thrift store I could find looking for furniture I can reupholster, refinish and/or repaint. That allowed me to stay on budget yet personalize my home. I am also big on wall stencils and have a stenciled focal wall in every room in my apartment. I rent, and you're not allowed to paint walls, but small price to pay to love my space. Good luck to you hun!!

    1. Thrift stores can be gold mines for great pieces and really with a little elbow grease can be completely transformed! Wall stencils are a great idea, I'm definitely going to have to look into that! Thanks Sandee :)

  2. We really have the exact same style in furniture, absolutely love this post! I just moved into my new house today and living on a space of 13 square meters, it was rather hard to find the right furniture, though a nice challenge;) Really love re-doing and refurbishing old furniture!
For more inspiration I always visit the website www.housetohome.co.uk ,really love their country inspiration!
    Good luck!

  3. I've got a couple of more years before I plan to start looking for a more permanent home, but I typically use colors and mirrors to style my small space. I'm kind of jealous of you right now haha! Wish I was almost done with college, but I've got 2 more years to go:)
